Dr. Amelia Decker
Dr. Decker was born and raised in Tucson’s Tanque Verde Valley. She earned an undergrad degree with honors in neuroscience from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduation she moved back home to graduate at the top of her class from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Before joining Tanque Verde Pediatrics she completed a 3 year residency in Pediatrics at the University of Arizona. While there she took an interest in community health and advocacy.
During her residency Dr. Decker became involved in the American Academy of Pediatrics and is currently an active national member and on the committee for continuing medical education for the Arizona state chapter. In 2024 she was elected to the Board of Directors for the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr Decker enjoys seeing all ages and stages of children and adolescents. She has a particular interest in caring for children with special needs. Together she and her husband founded the Rare Disease Day Tucson celebration and continue to advocate for the rare community.
When she is not in the office she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
