Dr. Mimi Peterson

Dr. Mimi Peterson

Dr. Peterson was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and the University of Wisconsin Medical School.

In 1989, Dr. Peterson came to Tucson for her three-year pediatric residency training at the University of Arizona. She then worked for three years with the Section of Hematology/Oncology in the University Medical Center Department of Pediatrics as an assistant clinical lecturer. She has given presentations on anemia, pediatric cancer, and sickle cell anemia. She joined Dr. Williams at Canyon Pediatrics on October 1, 1995.

Dr. Peterson is board certified in pediatrics, a member of the American Medical Association and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Peterson and her husband, Doug (a gastroenterologist), have two daughters, Erin and Meghan, and one son William. Their family enjoys sports and travel.
